【Indications】

Wind-cold is severe on the surface and internal heat. Symptoms include fever, aversion to cold, weight or pain, no sweating, irritability, and floating and tight pulse; or excessive drinking, swelling of the limbs, head and face, no sweating, irritability, and limb pain.

【Fang Yi】

This prescription is Ephedra decoction plus gypsum, ginger, and jujube, used to treat Taiyang typhoid syndrome and irritability and internal heat syndrome. The ephedra decoction in the prescription mainly uses ephedra plus ginger, which is pungent and warm to induce sweating, so as to dissipate external evils; gypsum is pungent and cold, to clear away internal heat; and jujube is neutralizing to relieve sweat sources. It is an antidote to both external and internal problems. The name Daqinglong is because after taking the medicine, the sweating and evil spirits will go away, just like a dragon rising and rain falling, so it is named after the stagnation and heat are eliminated.

1.
Headache and body aches: add Chuanxiong and Angelica dahurica.

4. For severe cough: add mulberry leaves, platycodon, and coltsfoot flowers.
